About

I became interested in weaving when I volunteered on a Neolithic archaeological excavation in Israel in 2010.  Weaving is an ancient art and I have always been interested in the evolution and history of man kind.  Shortly after this trip, a good friend taught me how to weave and I haven’t stopped since.  The joy of making fabric that is an essential part of everyday life has been mesmerizing and informative. For me, weaving is a meditation on color, pattern and time and each of my scarves is a reflection of this process.

I am an Adjunct Professor in photography and art history as well as a practitioner of other fine arts such as ceramics.  I have attended residencies at Vermont Studio Center and Virginia Center for the Creative Arts as well as received various grants.  When I’m not doing anything art related, you will probably find me wandering and hiking through the woods with my dog.
