Recent Commissions

5 Sep

I have been doing several commissions lately and thought I would share a few of them.  The scarf on top is what I like to call a Bohemian Plaid that has stripes of a burnt orange and teal with more neutral colors such as brown and a light blue.  It measures 11″ wide by 72″ long.  The scarf on the bottom is a nice chartreuse in tencel and a grey tencel/mohair blend measuring 11″ wide by 70″ long.  If you see something you like in my gallery or etsy shop, but imagine it in a different color, contact me and let’s see what we can work out.

New Additions

31 Aug

While I’ve been weaving more scarves for the fall, I have also been exploring the cuff bracelet idea.  I’ve got a few here that have some bling to them because of the vintage crystal buttons I have been using.  They are fun and will keep your wrists warm this fall/winter.  I’m also getting more scarf inventory completed and making them wide so they drape and keep you warm.

Understated for Men

24 Jul

Working on a more understated but yet stylish series of scarves with men in mind.  Using dark and neutral colors of black, brown and beige in various types of yarn.  These all use a basic pointed twill pattern where each is unique and fashionable.  I used tencel, silk, cotton, mohair and bamboo yarns.

Smaller Scale

5 Jul

Working on a smaller scale by making these cuff bracelets.  They are unique and fashionable where some wrap around the wrist twice for a layered look.  Some hook together with a vintage button or snap together.  They make great gifts or a treat for yourself!

Festival Recovery

17 Jun

So while I recover and reflect on the past weekend, I would like to thank all of those who stopped by the Woven Thoughts booth at the Mountain Heritage Festival this past weekend.  A special Thank You goes to the handful of you who took home some beautiful and special weavings. If you missed the fair, I still have some beautiful scarves waiting for you in my etsy shop.

I will be at the festival again in the Fall during the last weekend of September and will have some new inventory for you to peruse.  Also keep your eyes peeled for other fairs I will be at during the Fall such as Out of Hand in Baltimore, MD which is TBD (usually the first Sunday of December).

Heading to West Virginia

12 Jun

Well, I am packing up the car and getting ready to head west to the Mountain Heritage Arts and Crafts Festival.   I have a pile of weavings and ready to sell.  Don’t miss out on this literally hot off the loom Hooded Infinity Scarf that was inspired by the saori weaving method.  This and many more styles will be in the Woven Thoughts booth.  Hope to see you there!
